The Frederick County Office of Economic Development (OED) is the catalyst for economic growth in Frederick County. Our mission is to increase the overall economic health of Frederick County through attracting new businesses in our targeted industries and helping existing businesses be more successful.
OED is a department within the Executive Branch of Frederick County Government. Frederick County, MD transitioned to the County Charter form of government on Dec 1, 2014. Under Charter Government, there is an Executive and a Legislative Branch with a County Council. The County Executive is elected at-large and the seven-member County Council consists of five members elected by district and two elected at-large. OED can provide your business with business tools such as site selection assistance, redevelopment services, incentives and demographics. We can also act as an ombudsman for the business community to ensure your business succeeds in Frederick County for many years to come.
